sinakulo and sarswela.
Puppetry in the Philippines started since the time of Dr. Jose Rizal, our national hero, when he
staged the play entitled carillo or shadow puppetry.

2.MORO MORO is a unique theater play in the Philippines because there are no other countries
that thought of or created the said drama.

3.THE ZARSWELA was introduced in the Philippines in the 19th century by Spanish director
Alejandro Cubero.

5.Senakulo is a play depicting the life and sufferings of Jesus Christ.
