As you know, formation of Na2CO3 in Solvay ammonia process ,when CO2 is passed through brine solution saturated with ammonia . Sodium bicarbonate precipitated . NaCl + NH3 + H2O --->NaHCO3 ↓ but in case of Potessium , it cannot be prepared by Solvay process because of potessium bicarbonate being more soluble than sodium bicarbonate doesn't get precipitated when CO2 is passed through a concentrated solution of KCl saturated with ammonia.
Solvey process cannot prepare potassium carbonate because unlike sodium carbonate potassium carbonate is fairly soluble in water it does not pricipitate out.
