The truth is, much of our knowledge of the past can be attributed to the writings or to the accounts of historians. Without someone who can tell us about the events of the past, then there is no way we can unearth the mysteries of yesterday.
However, the question of whether it is possible to come up or arrive at an absolute historical truth remains dubious. Since "historical accounts" are highly relative, subjective, and empirical by nature.
If we seek the historical truth of events from about a millennium ago and beyond, such as the history behind the formation of the Pyramids of Egypt, I personally think that given our limited resources, artifacts, and impoverish technology, it would be an arduous task to establish and deduce an absolute historical truth about it.
But if the historical events took place not so long ago such as WWI or WWII, then I think it is still possible that we can establish an absolute historical truth.
