Why is AIDS considered a syndrome and not a disease?

Aneelmalhi AIDS also known as “Acquired Immunodeficiency Syndrome” is the last stage of HIV infection. AIDS is designated as a “syndrome” since a group of health problems are characteristic of the disease and as a consequence you get viral, bacterial, fungal and parasitic infections.
