Answer:
Although certain cohesive elements existed before Indian impact, Indian influence has historically dominated the cultural history of Southeast Asia.
While the indigenous societies of the region have their own diverse traditions that have interacted with each other and been influenced by the great civilisations of India and China, some arts reflect influences from Hinduism, Buddhism, and Islam.
Sculpture and stone construction are the most lasting forms of Southeast Asian art. the style of sculpture was greatly influenced by Indian techniques and generally portrayed religious themes with high iconographic precision. Other themes included court and battle scenes, scenes depicting daily life and the customs of the people, and animals both real and mythical. Basically, its arts are religious in nature.
The Southeast Asian collection includes works from Cambodia, Thailand, Vietnam, Burma, Laos, Indonesia, and the Philippines, with a focus on stone and metal religious sculpture, ceramics, and textiles, all of which are important in social ties and ceremonies.
