Statement of Position:
( The Department of Education (DepEd) reiterates its commitment to the holistic development of learners inside and outside the classroom. The said issuance aims to enable learners to have more quality time with their parents, family, and friends by limiting the homework/assignment. And to a reasonable quantity on school days and by eliminating the same during weekends. It is in this regard that the Department supports the no-homework policy proposed by legislators from the House of Representatives. By ensuring that they complete all assignments and projects in school, the no-homework policy enables our learners to find balance between their academic development and personal growth. )
Arguments:
( - Other are do not agree with the position of the Department of Education (DepEd) that a “no homework” policy. Prohibiting teachers from assigning academic work to be completed by students is beneficial to Filipino students. Banning homework would provide more time for peer socialization. Homework has been a part of the schooling experience for multiple generations. And Assignments can be an effective way to discover learning disabilities.
- But other says that No homework policy is better because Homework restrictions reduce issues with classroom burnout for students. Young kids have more time to play and read. Preschoolers and early elementary students have yet to develop study skills, so giving homework in the form of exercises might not be a good use of their time. Banning homework would help students get more sleep. And Student health is adversely impacted by too many homework assignments.
- No homework policy have many advantages and disadvantages. Taking a stand to implement a no homework policy should be based on the needs of the students and not the opinions of fellow teachers or parents. However, teachers who want to put an end to homework assignments often have to deal with the strong opinions of administration, teachers and parents. Others have a job and busy so that they cant guide there children to their homework's so that they want to have a no homework policy. But other have a balance on their time and want a more knowledge so they disagree at no homework policy. )

( There have been many studies about the cons of homework, and the results are all against homework. The studies show that kids are exhausted after school and need a break, homework takes away from outside activities, homework causes conflicts between parents, and homework really hurts kids that are struggling learners. English-language learners, young students, kids with few resources, students in many of today’s families, and kids that have to do chores or take care of their siblings. They say that the use of homework is effective when used by the rule less is more. Overwhelming kids with homework can cause them stress. So other are agree in No homework policy. )
