We say plant supply oxygen to air because while respiration , plants take in carbon dioxide for their breck down of food .
By this they produce oxygen and glucose (food), and release the oxygen into the air by their tiny pores called stomata present in their leaves.
This oxygen is taken by all the living organisms for their own growth, energy, etc.
