In the past, food production in the country was very abundant. Human activities such as deforestation, illegal logging, and quarrying have meant that this situation has been changed and at present lack of food is experienced. This has had significant consequences in the people, animals and agricultural production.
The main reasons behind the decreased in food supply and production are the human activities that harm the environment. Deforestation, illegal logging, and quarrying make the topsoil and nutrients for plants carried away by the wind and water.
Due to soil erosion, the people and society's economic status were affected. Once the topsoil is gone, it will eventually unfit for vegetation and would mean less agricultural production. This can affect humans and animals since plants are their main source of food and nutrients.
In conclusion, these human activities had brought some adverse effects to the people and environment. this must be given an immediate response to ensure food supply. The challenge is in our hands.

Hello ! I just wanna say that the first sentence shouldn’t be started with the stated reasons, but rather simply the introduction, which is paragraph 3,
acklev
Paragraph 3 indicates and shows the topic sentences which is always the introduction to a paragraph
acklev
“In the past, food production...” it is clear it is introducing the topic for the paragraph, and that is food production
