Journey of an egg
The journey of an egg starts when one sperm makes its way into the fallopian tube.
The sperm burrows into the egg, and it fertilizes the egg.
Within 24 hours of being fertilized, it starts dividing fast into many cells.
The fertilized egg stays in the fallopian tube for about 3 to 4 days.
Cells keep dividing as it moves slowly through the fallopian tube to the uterus.
It attaches to the lining of uterus and this is called implantation.
The lining of the uterus gets thicker and the cervix is sealed by a plug of mucus.
It will stay in place until the baby is ready to be born.
And there the journey ends.
