If the population size increases above the carrying capacity, the organisms will die because the resources present in the area might not be enough to sustain all organisms. There will be competition for space and food among the organisms. Survival of the fittest will happen, and only those that can survive the limitation of the ecosystem will survive. Other factors may also contribute to the decrease of organisms including the spread of diseases, and the risk of natural catastrophes.
