I What I Need to Know This module was designed and written with you in mind. It is here to help you master the types of speeches and speech style. The scope of this module permits it to be used in many different learning situations. The language used recognizes the diverse vocabulary level of students. The lessons are arranged to follow the standard sequence of the course. But the order in which you read them can be changed to correspond with your needs. The module is divided into two lessons, namely: Lesson 1 - Types of Speeches Lesson 2 - Types of Speech Style . After going through this module, you are expected to: 1. distinguish the types of speeches according to purpose and delivery, 2. determine the types of speeches used in different real-life situations; 3. distinguish the types of speech style; 4. identify the social situations in which each speech style is appropriate to use; and 5. observe the appropriate language forms in using a particular speech style.​
