Volcanoes are formed when two plates collide or along the convergent boundary. As the plate collide, denser plate usually oceanic plate will subduct beneath the other and moves towards the mantle. As the oceanic plate subduct and moves towards the mantle beneath the other plate, the leading edge of the subducting plate will melt and this melted material will turn into magma and rise up on the surface of the other plate forming a volcano on the surface.

As the plate collide, denser plate usually oceanic plate will subduct beneath the other and moves towards the mantle. As the oceanic plate subduct and moves towards the mantle beneath the other plate. It will form a depression on top wherein it is more deeper than the other.
