EXERCISE 2 Directions: Read the conversations below. Copy the sentences that stand for A-R- E. 1. April: Hey Lyn! Why do you look so sad? Lyn: Mother is very angry with me. I forgot to close the faucet and it flooded the living room. I said I was sorry and cleaned the living room all by myself, but she still was so furious of me. 2. Daisy: Henry looked very tired. Sheila: He really is very tired. He said that he took the last bus which was crowded with passengers and traveled for an hour. His legs were getting numb and he felt like he can barely walk. 3. Anne: Hey Sarah, I am very sorry to hear about your dad. Do you need a shoulder to cry on? I'm here. Sarah: Thank you. Yes, I am very sad right now. I can't accept that he died and was not there when he drew his last breath. It really pains me just by thinking about it. I hope he can forgive me. 4. Ed: You are absent-minded lately. What seems to be the matter? Charlie: I am very anxious. My neighbor's house had been robbed last night. This has become worse. A total of five robberies in just six weeks! 5. Claire: You never listen when I talk, why? Julian: I beg to disagree! I always listen when you talk. Only that, sometimes you talk so fast that I can't make sense of it. Did you notice? I can easily reply if you talk slower. So please talk slower, okay?
