Quarter I Performance Task 2
Directions: Read the text carefully. Present the information on how to make "Inumoe" into a graphic
organizer. Use an intermediate or yellow pad for your answer.
"Inumoe" (fermented rice) is a local delicacy which has sweet and sour taste. It is prepared with
special consideration to cleanliness for any tiny dent of foreign object and material on the "inumoe"
preparation will stale the food. The preparation of "inumoe" is simple. A cooked rice is evenly mixed
with "tapay". It is then wrapped in a "payao" leaf (no other leaf can substitute the "payao".) Put inside
a box. Finally, cover with c.loth for 24 hours. The "inumoe" preparation is quite simple but making of
"tapay" is more complex. It is prepared with a mixture of dried ground ginger, ground rice and dried
ground sugarcane. The mixture of these ingredients is significant also as lesser or more of any of the
mixture will make the "tapay" ineffective in fermenting the rice. A trial and error of the prepared "tapay"
is used until the perfect mixture is made.
