I always try to be better than others, often harming myself in the process, comparing myself to others, making my mental health go down. I started to think, why am I not enough? , why do they have all those things that I don't?, it so unfair...I want people to look at me and say " oh I wish I were her" or " oh she is winning life" like I always did to others. I envy people that has all of what people admired.
all because I didn't want people to think that I'm a failure, especially my family, they expect me to graduate at a high level and I'm doing it without knowing I was slowly losing myself in the process. My mental health is so low, I'm close to losing myself, just because I want people's approval. now I'm in high school struggling, realizing what I did.
I started doing this for myself and not for others, I want my own approvement, I wanted to prove myself that I want that to happen because I want to and not because people want to. I can do whatever I want to improve myself without impressing anyone or wanting anyone's approval.
yeah that's how I relate to that qoutation.
I'm really sorry I ranted out but that's your question.
I hope my answer would help and inspire you more on helping yourself for you and you ONLY
