Just ask them. Say you have an assignment or art project and you need your rubber/ sharpener . Don't get personal by criticising the person or friend who took it. Just simply ask for it back. Do it nicely. This is a reasonable request and you have nothing to be afraid about.
You could say it like this…..”Hey Jody about those stationary things you borrowed the other day from my pencil case. Can I have them back now please as I'll be needing them. “
Don't act like it's a bg deal, just be normal.
There is the risk that the person or friend who took the items won't give them back. For what ever reason. If this happens you could try a follow up if the person has left them at home you could say….” I would appreciate it if you could remember to bring them in tomorrow, thanks".
The next day if the person or friend hasn't returned them to you . Ask again. Like this…..“ Hey Jody, do you have those stationary items we talked about yesterday?”
If she dose thank her…….” Hey thanks for that"
If she dosnt. Your out of luck. Don't make a big deal out of it because they are only small items. This situation will teach you how to look after your stuff and in future not to loan anything to this particular person again. Treat it as a lesson learnt.
They may ask to loan something at a future stage and you now have good reason to say no. ….”No sorry, I don't loan out my stuff, because I don't get it back”
I know how you feel. I'm into stationary too and get up set when I cant find stuff or it's not returned etc etc.
This is an opportunity to learn how to look after your things and how to deal with people. Both important lessons. By the way a true friend would return it without any problems.
