I will tell my classmates that it's wrong to attack the divine motherhood of Mary because they are disrespecting her they should learn how to respect people especially the lord
Mary being the Mother of God is the historical view of the Church. You cannot look at the person of Jesus and take apart his divinity from his humanity. The Word became flesh. Our salvation is because Jesus is both God and man. If people can say "God died on the cross because he had a human nature," why do they deny that Mary is the Mother of God? God "dying" on the cross does not mean that Jesus stopped being God, it simply means that the divine person (the Second Person of the Trinity) died on the cross because he is the God-man. When we say that Mary is the Mother of God, we are saying that she gave birth to a Divine Person who was incarnate.
Mary is the Theotokos. The view that Mary was merely Christotokos and not Theotokos was condemned (the heresy of Nestorianism) at the Council of Chalcedon.
