Dear Diary, Today is very special for me. Finally all the efforts translated into results. I know I was very nervous about this game. It all started with my interest for Badminton. A very good opportunity came to me in the form of this Championship. I didn't have too many expectations, but I practiced very hard. I qualified All the preliminary rounds, everytime I concentrated on giving my best, not worrying about results. This attitude of not worrying about results brought me to the finals. Unlike earlier games , When I reached finals, Suddenly there was a desire to win this game and it instilled the fear what if I not win. I was very much nervous. I was scared to learn that I was to play against Three times state champion in the final game. All these feelings made it very much hard to concentrate. My game saw a slight decline, my moves got slower. One would have doubted If I was really the same player who came till Finals. My friends who also play with me daily started observing the decline. I was really fortunate that, Somehow this news reached my coach. He was really supportive in teaching me all the shots, but I was very reluctant earlier to share my feeling of nervousness. He came to me, asked to meet him after Practice. Later when i met him, He asked Did you participate in this Championship knowing that you will make it to the finals. My answer was No. I wasn't really sure of even clearing the first preliminary round. This was because I wasn't even in top 10 players under my coach. Surprisingly none of them made it to the finals.
He further told, When you start expecting, You start thinking about not fulfilling it. There starts the fear and this fear does more damage. So Consider this final game as yet another game and Give your best. His words made me regain confidence. I was feeling better when i stopped considering this game as Final. I played this like any other game, and I could see my movements become very better. Suddenly the opponent was under huge pressure. And finally, I have won the championship. As I left the court after the game, I was appreciated by my parents and Many of my friends congratulated me. Today, I am really happy beyond words.
