As a Filipino we have this trait of "utang na loob" which goes beyond the debt of the material aspect such as money and personal possessions. This "utang na loob" penetrates to our inferiority and makes us act on the basis of "hiya" or shame. Following this explanation, as a person who is helped by my aunt to graduate in law school, I will help her in her case and try to figure out whether the accusations are true. My act of helping her is my retribution to her good deed shown to me. It is my way of returning back my "utang na loob" which goes beyond materiality and will be with me as I live.
Is she to blame, it depends on the investigation that will be conducted. If the accusation is true, then I will try all the possibilities to know what led her to do it. In doing so I will investigate whether her action is driven by some coercion or not. If it is done by force then my aunt will not be liable to court but if so then other circumstances must also be seen and investigated.
