CHARACTERISTICS:
- Insects have what we call an exoskeleton or a hard, shell-like covering on the outside of its body.
- They have no brain and no blood. They can live up to 35 years.
- Bodies divided into two tagmata, eight jointed legs, no wings or antennae.
- Are bila terally symmetrical, meaning that the two sides of their bodies are identical.
- Have a spiral-shaped shell which is wound around a spindle.
