We were playing cricket in the park. Ravi hit a six and I ran to take the ball. The ball had rolled away and hidden itself inside a bush. I squatted and extended my arm into it when I felt something soft, like fur. I heard a whining sound the moment I had come in contact with it, which surprised me. I spread the leaves in order to see what I had touched and gasped. Wow!!! There were six puppies sleeping. The ball had rolled under one, having it nuzzle the ball. I didn't want to wake them up, but I also needed the ball. I looked to see where the mom was, but saw no dog around. A little concerned, I looked around until I spotted a dog trotting by with food in its mouth. I quickly went back to the bush and took back the ball. That's when the puppy started wailing. The mom was there for her puppies in an instant, so I didn't worry about leaving the puppies alone. I was happy to see the puppies wake up from their sleep to greet their mom by whining and barking. It was really cute. I went back to the park and Ravi asked what took so long. I told him I was looking after puppies and continued the game, being mindful of the puppies in the bushes.
