This morning when I woke up and looked in the mirror, I did not recognise the face looking back at me. "This is not me........,"I cried aloud. I was looking at the face of my favourite sports star, Viraj Shah.
Then suddenly, I heard someone calling out to him. Someone barged through the door and started shouting and asking why I wasn’t ready yet. I just stood there and stared at the man with a dumbfounded expression. The man also started to look worried. I asked, “Who are you?” The man threw his hands in the air and said, “Who am I! What kind of a question is that? I am Amit, your manager. Why aren’t you ready for your morning interview?”
It then dawned on me that he was thinking that I was Viraj. I was elated that I had turned into Viraj and I would finally get to live his life. Amit was still staring at me like I was some alien. I finally managed to smile at him and told him that I would be ready in 15 minutes. I asked him to wait for me outside and he left.
I was Viraj and I had the life of my dreams. I jumped in the air and danced around for sometime then decided to get ready for the day. While getting ready, I recollected that Amit had mentioned an interview, I racked my brains to remember what the recent events were and tried to guess exactly what the interview would be about. Then, I remembered that Viraj was going to a famous talk show, Morning feasts with the champs. I was not only a big fan of Viraj but luckily I had also seen the previous episodes of this show so I knew what to expect. I decided that I could give this interview as I knew everything about Viraj’s life. I was after all his biggest fan.
I went for the interview confidently and gave my best. I don’t think anyone suspected anything. Later that day, I got to meet the entire Indian cricket team and practice with them. All the players complained that it wasn’t my best game. I sulked at first and then realised that I wasn’t Viraj and I couldn’t be as good as him. By the end of the day, I realised that living Viraj’s life wasn’t easy. He was busy throughout the day and barely had any time for himself. But I did go to sleep with a smile that night only to wake up the next day as myself again. Life gives you success only at the cost of hard work.
