Music was combined with complexity and elegance throughout the renowned periods of music. Many well-known composers started their different musical compositions from every period, which what we are constantly listening today to reminisce their greatness. The very idea that these composers were to make such masterpiece is a puzzle, or we just have to derive to a conclusion that geniuses had roamed the earth back then.
The Selected Musics:
John Dowland Fine Knacks for Ladies
G.F. Handel Halleluia Chorus
L.V. Beethoven Symphony No.9, Op. 125, D Minor “Choral” Symphony No. 9
The Periods of Music:
Renaissance-from 1400-1600, renaissance or rebirth music was primarily maid for churches. Although that was the case, freedom was still given to the composers
Baroque- from 1600-1750, new styles: concerto, sonata, opera; freedom from the control of churches
Classical- from 1750-1820, the age of reason and the rise of a new style called classicism, elegance and nobility
Among the three compositions, which did you like the most? Why?
Among the three selected music, I was truly amazed by Ludwig Van Beethoven’s Symphony No. 9 or “the Ninth”. Other than the two which were also masterpieces, the ninth has complexity and a story. Beethoven was also known as a genius other than the fact that he is deaf, his musical compositions are really that of another level.
Other than my admiration of the very composer, the symphony no. 9 somewhat gives you a feeling of triumph over something. He was also inspired by Friedrich Schiller’s Ode to Joy, and used it on the final movement.
