Why the Moon is Not as Bright as the Sun
Along time ago the Moon was brighter than the sun. The people worked
when the Moon was out and slept when the sun came out. The Sun was often jealous
of the Moon because it was brighter than himself
One day, the Sun put a heavy boulder on the limbs of a pine tree. Then
he told the Moon, as they passed through the forest, "I was told that there is much
gold under that atene, you can have the gold." Eagerly, the Moon did as he was told.
The stone was heavy, and it took some time to lift. As soon as the Moon had moved
the boulder away, the tree's branches sprang up and scratched him badly on the face.
Since then, he has not shone as brightly as the Sun, so that now the Sun is brighter
than the Moon. The two have always been enemies since then.
