Primarily, there is a separation of church and state that requires that any individual religious point of view be kept out of schools ... while this is misinterpreted a lot, the reality is that it is a good thing to keep DOGMA out of the education system. Dogma is the "just accept it as fact" statements of any religion, ethos, philosophy or otherwise. (e.g. a valid dogma of mathematics is that literal numbers represent a single value and never change).

Great God was jealous of Olorun’s work. He wanted to bring life to the earth figures he had made.
“I will watch Olorun to see how he does it,” thought Great God.
So he stayed there with the figures and hid amongst them so that he might see the work of Olorun firsthand.
But Olorun knew everything. He knew whenever there were watchers. He saw Great God there where he had hidden. And he put Great God into a very deep sleep.
