What is your opinion regarding the posted issue and relate the proliferation of Fake news in the country and as Filipino citizen how would you prevent that? I need an answer asap
Fake news has been in existence for quite a long time, it has only become more prolific now a days because of the presence of numerous social media platforms that becomes an avenue for the conveyance of these lies and deceptions.
Correcting fake news and putting an end to its filthy existence is certainly a challenging feat. After all, It spreads like a wildfire among the ignorant minds of the young and the fanatics.
Even with government intervention, countering fake news seems to be insignificant.
The proliferation of fake news is actually beyond our control, but its effects and influence can certainly be remedy.
As I mentioned a while ago, fake news can only inhabit the minds of the ignorant and of the fanatics. I believe there is still hope for the ignorant, but for the fanatics, there is none.
The best thing that we need to do is to educate the youth and the ignorant, warn them of the menace brought about by fake news.
Fake news will never manipulate and deceive us if only we are critical of what we read or heard.
In dealing with news especially with the ones we just heard or read somewhere, it is best to employ Descarte's methodic doubt.
To doubt is not to discredit the truth, but it is rather a way for us to prove the veracity of a claim/news.

What is your opinion regarding this quotation? "Wherever there is a human being there is an opportunity for a kindness"
“It used to be that we could have a civilized conversation about political ideas. We used to have civilized conversations about disagreements in terms of issues, in terms of values, in terms of ideologies. What makes democracy work is that we can look across the aisle and have a decent conversation.”
But much has changed since the proliferation of what is commonly called fake news on social media platforms. That’s the lament of Professor Clarissa David of the College of Mass Communication of the University of the Philippines.
In an interview early this year, David said that while academics try not to use the term “fake news,” it is still used in situations where they need to discuss the phenomenon because the term is widely used and understood by more people. “We try to avoid the term now because it puts together into one category many different kinds of harmful content that’s online,” she added.
David said that communications or media scholars have recently categorized fake news into two types: misinformation and disinformation. According to David, misinformation is false information that is unintentionally disseminated on online platforms. “There is no propaganda intention; mostly there is no political intention,” she said. Disinformation, on the other hand, is intended to convince online users to favor a group or individual political perspective. “Disinformation is orchestrated, it’s funded, … it’s planned. In politics, it’s run by professionals,” she added.
