Substitution reaction➡the reaction in which an element substitutes the other element from its place is called substitution reaction
Double Displacement reaction➡the reaction in which the exchange of ions between the two molecules take place is referred to double displacement reaction
substitution reaction or displacement reaction is the reaction in which a higher reactive metal in the reactivity series displaces a lower reactive metal to form a new substance.
Eg - Zn + CuSO4 = ZnSO4 + Cu
( so , basically "Zn" is more reactive compared to "Cu" , thus Cu gets displaced to from a new compound.....)
double decomposition reaction is the reaction both reactants are decomposed to give new compounds by exchanging their radicals.
Eg - CaCl2 + Na2O3 = 2NaCl + CaCO3
( so , basically both the compounds exchange their radicals and form new compounds.......)
