Answer:Religious differences - India is majority a Hindu country whereas Philippines is Catholic/Christian. Now this trickles down to several beliefs that find origin in religion . Such as abortion , is perfectly ok in India if the child is unplanned pregnancy, born out of wedlock. In Philippines if you are pregnant, the child must be born, whether teenage pregnancy, wedlock or just some one night affair. Whether it does any good to the child , it is for the parent to do decide. I am going with the Indian way.
Parents /family set-up . In India everything revolves around family. But it limits to parents , and blood siblings. With passing time and when adults , everyone sort of start their independent life without being dependent on anyone. Except the fact parents are collective responsibility of all the children, which will again reduce if parents are financially capable. In Philippines , the drama extends not only to parents , but cousins uncles and even distant relatives. So much that if you are the sole earning member of the family , you have an obligation to support and feed the entire clan while some of them leech off your hard earned money.
Access to education and parents role - this could be related to many underlying factors , such as poverty and access to education. In India , parents strive and can go to any end to make their children go the best college and get best of education. I know of cases where they would sell last bit of property to make their children get best of education as they know that is their gateway to long term happiness. Rich or poor everyone gives proper education or atleast tries to do that . That's why India is composed of a large middle class income group which leads a comfortable life. Philippines on the other hand , education is limited to only rich and who can afford. The poor income group let the kids complete only upto high school and then they have to fend for themselves or do odd jobs quitting schools and colleges. This only adds to their already poor strata and lack of employability. However surprisingly parents expect the kids to help them when they are old..strange .
Acceptance and tolerance - Indians in general are not tolerant and acceptance doesn't come easy. People from ethnic races , different sexual orientation , women in general are not accepted , easily in workplace. Whereas Philippines has high tolerance and acceptance to different races, sexual orientation. However , strangely Filipinos have a strong rooted racism towards Indians and a great deal of judgement and stereotypes. Indians on the other hand, well don't even know this country exist. Sometimes ignorance is a bliss.
Social drinking /Eating habits . Indians , as famous in the world worship cows hence do not eat beef . They do not eat pork either as there are no pork farms and the pigs that you see around eat human faeces and garbage. That led to the belief that eating pig would be the dirtiest meal. Filipinos love their beef and lechon. Social drinking (esp in women) is still not accepted in majority of Indian society and looked down upon, (only accepted in upper class and educated families). Filipino drink like fish.
