Yes!! The pH of a substance can be defined as the negative logarithm to the base 10 of the concentration of hydronium ions in a solution, measured in mole/lit. A pH scale is one where we can determine the concentration of hydronium ions in a solution ie the acidity or basicity of a substance. So if a substance has a pH of below 7 it is acidic whereas if it has a pH of above 7 it is basic. A substance that has a pH of 7 is neutral.
