1. The reorder-cycle system, or cyclical-review system, consists of ordering at fixed regular intervals. Various combinations of these systems can be used in the construction of an inventory-control procedure.
2. Reports help the top line in decision making. A rule and balanced report also helps in problem solving. Reports communicate the planning, policies and other matters regarding an organization to the masses. News reports play the role of ombudsman and levy checks and balances on the establishment.
3. A dashboard is an information management tool used to track KPIs , metrics, and key data points that are relevant to your business, department, or a specific process. Dashboards aggregate and visualize data from multiple sources, such as databases, locally hosted files, and web services
4. Barcodes are applied to products as a means of quick identification. They are used in retail stores as part of the purchase process, in warehouses to track inventory, and on invoices to assist in accounting, among many other uses.
5. Mobile phones are used for a variety of purposes, such as keeping in touch with family members, for conducting business, and in order to have access to a telephone in the event of an emergency. Some people carry more than one mobile phone for different purposes, such as for business and personal use.
6. The main reason for organizations to use system integration is their need to improve productivity and quality of their operations. The goal is to get the organizations various IT systems to “talk to each other” through the integration, to speed up information flows and reduce operational costs for the organization.
7. Raw materials are used in a multitude of products and can take many different forms. Raw materials are the input goods or inventory that a company needs to manufacture its products. For example, the steel used to manufacture vehicles would be a raw material for an automobile manufacturer.
8. Paper, paperboard, and cardboard cartons are frequently used as packaging for products in stores as well as used in shipping. Corrugated cardboard, for example, has excellent structural stability for shipping, storing, and even marketing products.
9. As mentioned above, maintenance professionals use MRO items to maintain company structures, equipment, and assets. Purchases that fall under MRO include maintenance tools/equipment, replacement parts for production equipment, personal protective equipment (e.g., safety goggles, work gloves), and office supplies
