What do you mean by wildlife conservation? If you get a chance to do something for the protection of wild animals and their habitats, what steps would you take. give right to be brainlist
Wildlife conservation refers to the practice of protecting wild species and their habitats in order to maintain healthy wildlife species or populations and to restore, protect or enhance natural ecosystems. Major threats to wildlife include habitat destruction, degradation, fragmentation, overexploitation, poaching, pollution and climate change. The IUCN estimates that 27,000 species of the ones assessed are at risk for extinction. Expanding to all existing species, a 2019 UN report on biodiversity put this estimate even higher at a million species. It is also being acknowledged that an increasing number of ecosystems on Earth containing endangered species are disappearing. To address these issues, there have been both national and international governmental efforts to preserve Earth's wildlife. Prominent conservation agreements include the 1973 Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora (CITES) and the 1992 Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD).[1][2] There are also numerous nongovernmental organizations (NGO's) dedicated to conservation such as the Nature Conservancy, World Wildlife Fund, and Conservation International.
Today many wild animals in world are on verge of extinction. We have to save their species.Tjis is called wildlife conservation.
If we get a chance to do something for animals and their habits we will take the following steps:
i) It is necessary to change our attitude and perception towards the forests. We consider it as a source of unlimited income, which is a mistake. It must be preserved. Only then the natural habitats for wildlife can be saved.
ii) Maintain balance of number between herbivores and carnivores in the forests. For this, steps like maintaining the waste source in the forest and restriction on grazing of domestic animals should be taken.
iii) There should be strict laws to ban hunting. Those laws should be implemented very harshly. Heavy punishment should be inflicted for illegal mining in forest area and a fine should be imposed.
iv) It is necessary to make such arrangements which would not disturb the animals during their procreative period.
v) A study should be made about the likely effects of fisheries, forest gathering or tourism in the forest and steps should be taken accordingly.
vi) Programmes should be arranged to bring widespread awareness in the society.
vii) If the wildlife protection force is inactive, then pressure should be bought on them and this work should be given priority.
