Conjunction are short words we normallyuse in the sentence. There are three kinds of conjunctions: coordinating, subordinating, and correlative conjunctions.
Coordinating Conjunctions
⇢ Coordinating conjunctions "link" equal parts of the sentence. The seven coordinating conjunctions are for, are, nor, but, or, yet, and so.
Examples:
I ordered ice cream and ham sandwich.
We checked earlier but it was not there.
It rained hard but the road was not flooded.
Subordinating Conjunctions
⇢ Subordinating conjunctions are dependent clause (subordinate clause) to an independent clause (main clause) in the sentence. We have 16 lists of subordinating conjunctions:

Examples:
I opened the window because it was dark inside.
We clap whenever we hear your name.
She stood up as soon as she heard her name.
Correlative Conjunctions
⇢ Correlative conjunctions work in pairs to join equal elements of a sentence together.
Examples:
Either Joyce or Catherine joining the team.
Neither you nor I will be the next class president.
Both Team A and Team b will participate in the contest.
