Body waves and surface waves
seismic waves are produced by the movement in the inner part of Earth, subduction, volcanic eruptions and the colliding of tectonic plates
There are only two known waves that can travel through the Earth's interior, the shear waves and compressional waves which are both under body waves
Surface waves can travel on Earth's surface alone: these are the love waves and rayleigh waves
