The only similarities that I could think of is that both tend to mainly use wood as a construction material in our traditional structures, we also use joinery techniques to fit different parts of the structure together, without the use of nails this makes the structures resistant to earthquakes. Aside from this, traditional Japanese and Filipino architecture looks quite different. Japanese architecture adopted a lot of Chinese influences, while Philippine architecture adopted less foreign influences.
