The interior of the Earth is divided into 4 layers namely: crust, mantle, outer core, and inner core. Magma is located in the mantle which is the second layer and just below the crust. In the inner core, uranium undergoing radioactive decay which releases tremendous amount of heat. Because of this heat, the upper mantle becomes plastic (solid which flow). The material of the lower part of the upper mantle heats up which makes its density less and rise up. As it rise up, temperature in upper part decreases which makes its density denser and sink. The continuous sinking and rising up of the material in the upper mantle is known as the convection current.

Tremendous Heat and Convection Current
The interior of the Earth is divided into 4 layers namely: crust, mantle, outer core, and inner core. Magma is located in the mantle which is the second layer and just below the crust. In the inner core, uranium undergoing radioactive decay which releases tremendous amount of heat. Because of this heat, the upper mantle becomes plastic (solid which flow).
