Explanation:
1. The epidermis is the outermost of the the three layers of human skin (skin is the largest organ in a human body that make 16 percent of an average human weight). This layer of skin provides protection or barrier from infections in the environment, such as dirt and pathogen. It also regulates the quantity of water released from the human body into the atmosphere.
2. The hair root surrounded by hair follicles anchors the hair into the skin. The root extends down through the skin and anchors or attaches itself with the help of the follicles to the arrector pili (a small muscle underneath the skin).
3 & 4. Hypodermis is the innermost and the thickest layer among the three layers of the human skin. The hypodermis is also known as the subcutaneous tissue or subcutaneous layer of the skin.
5. Nails are found at the tip of human toes and fingers. It is an accessory organ that gives protection for the nail bed.
6. The oily substance that produce in the sebaceous glands is the sebum. The sebum is produced via holocrine secretion process. The sebaceous glands are attached to a hair follicle. Sebum means fat and it is made of triglycerides, sebum acts as a lubricant for the human skin.
