You will only need 2 values though but teachers tell 3 values to be on the safer side.

• Step 1- Draw the tables for the two equations, I have attached an image below.
• Step 2-  Put different values of x(but always try to put simple values otherwise you will waste your time) and then you will get corresponding values of y. You can put value of y and get corresponding value of x as well.
• Step 3- Identify the scale of your graph. This can be done by using the H.C.F of the values(in this case its 0.5).

• Step 4- Now you can easily plot the graph and get the answer

These steps can be used to solve any graph problems. You can cross check your answer by you know linear eq. in 2 variable can be represented as ax+bx+c=0, and you also know the various ratios according to which the graph comes.

In this case [tex]\frac{a1}{a2}= \frac{b1}{b2}\neq \frac{c1}{c2}[/tex]  ∴The graph will be two parallel lines.
