THE MOTHER EARTH 4. Why do our bodies of water become dirty? A. people bathe there B. people catch fish from there C. people wash their clothes there D. people throw materials into them The earth is where we live in. It is often called Mother Earth. The people, the living animals and the plants are her children. Like a mother, the earth gives her children the things they need in order to live the land, water and air. But sad to say, the earth is slowly dying. People cut the trees in the forest. The trees hold the soil together so the soil is not washed away. Without good soil, plants and vegetables would not grow well. Our bodies of water are also in danger. People throw their wastes materials into rivers and lakes, so our water becomes dirty. Fishes also die in the water. Cars and automobiles give off smoke in to the air. Smoke from cigarettes poisons the air. The smoke makes the people uncomfortable and sick. Let us save Mother Earth. Let us plant trees. Let us keep our water and air clean. If this happens, the earth will be a wonderful place to live in. 5. What must we do to save Mother Earth?
