The digestive system is the organ system responsible
for the growth and repair of the body cells. The (mouth, nose)
with the help of the teeth, breaks down the food with the help of
the saliva, the parts of food become a soft and pasty mass called
a bolus. Then the tongue tastes, hold and push the bolus into the
throat and into the 25-centimeter muscular tube called
(esophagus, pharynx), until it reached a bag-like organ called
(stomach, larynx) The food will be digested in the stomach for
three to four hours until it becomes a soupy substance absorbed
by the large intestine, small intestine) that absorbs and slowly
breakdowns the food into nutrients absorbed by the
bloodstream. The undigested food will be stored temporarily in
(stomach, large intestine) where water is absorbed and flows
back to the bloodstream. And the undigested food waste goes to
the (anus. rectum) to be stored and eventually expelled in the
opening for elimination called (rectum, anus).
