Given :-

2500 cm³ of hydrogen is taken at S.T.P. The pressure of this gas is further increased by two and a half times (temperature remaining constant).

To Find :-

Volume occupied by Hydrogen after performing given steps.

Concept Used :-

Boyle's Law

For a fixed amount of gas at constant temperature, the volume occupied by the gas is inversely proportional to the pressure applied on the gas or pressure of the gas.

Solution :-

Assume initial condition for gas as,

Pressure = P

Volume = 2500cm³

Assume final condition for gas as,

Pressure = P'

It is given that

P' = 2.5 × P

Volume = V'

Now, apply the formula,

P × 2500 cm³ = P' × V'

P × 2500 cm³ = 2.5 × P × V'

Answer :-

So, volume occupied by Hydrogen after performing given steps is 1000 cm³.

= 714.29cm³
