We have to find the area of shaded region therefore ,
Firstly we will calculate area of each small square ,
Area of square = ( side )²
Given , side of a square = 1 m
Area of square = ( 1 )²
Area of square = 1 m²
There are 6 such squares , therefore
Area of 6 squares = ( 6 × 1 ) m²
Area of 6 squares = 6 m²
now , there are two small rectangles,therefore
Area of rectangle = Length × Breath
Given, length = 40 m
Breadth = 1 m
Area of rectangle =( 40 × 1 ) m²
Area of rectangle = 40 m²
There are two such rectangles ,So
[tex] \sf{}(2 \times 40) {m}^{2} \\ \\ \sf{} 80 {m}^{2} [/tex]
Now , total shaded area = area of 2 rectangles + area of 6 squares
[tex] = (80 + 6) {m}^{2} \\ \\ = 86 {m}^{2} [/tex]
Therefore , total shaded are is equals to 86 m²
