Shell’s Love for Dish Experiment Today is Kuya Amboy's birthday, but mother and father are not home, so the younger sister, Shell, decides to cook for kuya's birthday. Shell loves to experiment dishes to come up with a palatable and unique food. This time, Shell wants to work on a recipe suited to an adolescent like her and kuya. Instead of using the regular pancit ingredient which is Bihon, she wants to use bamboo shoot or locally known as “ubod” as primary ingredient. She was taught by her mother that it is better to measure her condiments properly to control the savor. Accurate measurement of the combination of the condiments will help her succeed in this experiment because if the amount of soy sauce is not enough and too much water was doused into the “Ubod”, the color will not be vibrant and would taste bland. If there will be more soy sauce than water the taste will be saline. After an ample time of musing, the ingredients were decided by her. The ingredients for her Pancit “Ubod” are the following:

2 cups of fresh ubod,
½ cup of sliced carrot,
¼ cup of cabbage,
½ cup of chop pork meat or chicken, whatever is available
2 tbsp of soy sauce,
1 teaspoon of oil,
a pinch of salt and pepper to taste,
1 ½ cup of water.
And of course, eating pancit will be more refreshing if teamed up with a refreshment. Mango milk shake has been chosen by her brother for the refreshment. With her eccentricity, she also personalized the shake with this recipe.
2 cups chopped green mango
1 ½ cups of carabao’s milk
1 ½ tablespoons of sugar to taste
3 ice cubes Eventually, Shell is now ready to serve the Pancit Ubod to her brother partnered with Mango Milk shake.
