Topic or Situation: OFW DISCRIMINATION
There are a lot of Filipinos abroad, they leave their own country to support their family. There are a lot of unemployed people in our country, having no or low education is also one of the reasons why they can not get a job. For this reason, people chose to go and work abroad to have a financial source. We call them OFW or overseas Filipino workers.
OFW's experiences a lot of things, violence, abuse, discrimination etc. They experience this because of their race, status, education, gender and sometimes because of their appearance. There is a study that shows nearly 5000 overseas Filipino workers experience abuse or Maltreatment all over the world. There are some cases that they experience even worst scenarios. Most overseas Filipino workers who experience discrimination and violence are women. Thankfully, our overseas Filipino workers that experience such a thing was to save but not everyone.
As of now, there are still overseas Filipino workers that experience discrimination. Some of them chose to be silent and endure it.
