Activity 7: Classifying Materials
Directions: In your Science class, your teacher asks you to sort the materials to be
used in an activity. Based on the descriptions/statements below, you have to classify
the unknown material as Substance or Mixture.
1. The material melts completely and smoothly.
2. The material has two or more phases of matter.
3. When boiling, the temperature of the material is fixed and sharp.
4. When melted, some parts of the materials do not melt.
5. The material is a combination of two or more substances.
