in fig a , Let us consider the distance between Sides FE and CD To be XY
Here , XY = 84 - BC
= 84 - 50 = 34m
area of the fig = area of abcd and area of cdef
= DC × BC + (FE+DC)/2 × XY
( we know that area or a trapezium
= sum of its adjacent sides/2 × height)
= 90×50 + (40+90)/2 × 34
and u will get the area
similarly in fig 2
total area = area of the rectangle in middle ( the sides are not visible) + area of the two trapeziums on both sides as done in case of fig2)
