Calculate the wavelength and time period of a tuning fork of frequency 512 hz that is set to vibrate. (given: velocity of sound in air is 330m/s.)

To find, the wavelength(λ) and time period(T) = ?

We know that,

Frequency, $\nu=\dfrac{C}{\lambda}$

⇒ $\lambda=\dfrac{C}{\nu}$

∴ The wavelength(λ) $=\dfrac{330}{\512}$

= 0.645 m

Aso, we know that,

Time period(T) $=\dfrac{1}{\nu}$

$=\dfrac{1}{512}=0.002$ sec

Hence, the wavelength(λ) = 0.645 m and time period(T) = 0.002 sec.
