In a series circuit, all components are connected end-to-end, forming a single path for current flow. In a parallel circuit, all components are connected across each other, forming exactly two sets of electrically common points.
The brightness will get reduced because the total resistance of the bulbs will increase and their current will decrease.Since current multiplied by voltage equals power (I x V = P , directly related to the light output), and the voltage in this case remains the same, the total power gets reduced, and the total light output (and brightness) gets reduced as well.
The bulbs in the series will NOT GLOW if you remove one bulb from it (if you expect a detailed answer please read the following explanation)

Reason

Imagine a series connection with 3 bulbs. As it's series connection, the negative terminal of bulb 1 is connected to positive terminal of the bulb 2, then the negative terminal of bulb 2 is connected to positive terminal of bulb 3.

As we remove one bulb (For example bulb 2) it removes electrical connection between bulhb 1 and 3. hence circuit will not be complete.

Hence none of the bulbs in series will glow.

In simple terms when we remove a single bulb from a series, No Bulb Glows
