Is "need" plural or singular. Is "needs" plural or singular?
I'm very confused with this. According to my lecture notes, my teacher said that a singular subject should always end up with a singular verb and a plural subject should end up with a plural verb. I will be giving examples to show my point..
Examples:
"She needs to rest now."
(the word "she" and "needs" are singular according to my lecture notes..)
"The girls need to rest now"
(the word "girls" and "need" are plural according to my lecture notes..)
I even searched in g.o.o.g.l.e if "need" is either plural or subject, same for needs and g.o.o.g.l.e said that:
*need-singular
*needs-plural
I am so confused right now. Please help!

Answer:
I think need is singular and needs is plural
Explanation:
I only think beacause, plural is the form that is used when referring to more than to more than one person and singular is which denotes more than one.
Ex.sentwnce-singular
Sentences-plural
(only my thought, it's up to you)
