PYGMALION and GALATEA Long time ago, a very famous, afted young sculptor of Cyprus named Pygmalion hated women. He detested them and he resolved never to marry. His art, he told himself, was enough for him. Nevertheless the statue he made was that of a woman. Either be could not dismiss from his mind what he disapproved of in women or he was bent on forming a perfect woman and showing men the deficiencies of women.​
