The Farmer with Three Sons
Once there was a farmer who had three sons. He had a large farm which he filled alone
because his sons did not like farming. The farmer worked hard every day until he became ill
and was too sick to get up. three sons came when they leared he was dying.
I may not live long. I buried gold in my farm. You dig for it and it is all yours", the farmer
told his sons. The three sons started digging after his death. They dug but there was no gold. As
they were digging, they did not know that they were making the soil softer and more fertile.
They planted it to keep them from hunger, as they searched for gold.
One day the brothers visited the farm. What do you think did they see? Not really gold
pieces but bunches of rice grain shining in the sun!
